Jan 21   Just as I was about to go plow the road, Seann brought in this video of Joe outside playing in the snow.  He eats more snow than he pees back out.  I think it's his way of making sure he gets to come right back out again to pee and play and eat more snow.

Jan 21    Last of the pups is leaving this weekend.  While Joe is getting crate trained and housebroken, he gets a chance to go back into the whelping box and play with his sisters while there's time.  Whelping box comes down this weekend and Becky starts crate training.  The two girls have very different personalities.  Miss Yellow sits and gushes for Dad while Miss Pink comes flying into the picture and won't be ignored!  Joe hangs in the back chewing on the red fire hose toy....he's very busy.
Enough of this fun, time to go plow the road so the last little girl's family can get here today to meet.  She is going to be living in Massachusetts and is looking forward to being spoiled by her own family.

Jan 19    Three pups remaining.  Video opens with Joe holding a green toy.  Then Miss Yellow makes an appearance.  Seann has a major crush on Miss Yellow.  She does have an incredibly sweet, human-focused personality.  Miss Pink shows up later on.   One more goes home this weekend and then we can focus on our 2 little gremlins!

Jan 13    Very cute video of pups about to get lunch.  There are three pups left in the box.  Our 2 and one very cute girl going to Massachusetts next week.  They get very excited about food and literally climb the wall right beforehand.  They are very smart and realize that even though we are preparing their food, it won't get to them for 20 minutes so it can soak a bit.  They actually don't cry or bug us cause they already know the routine.  Smart kids.

Jan 4     They are getting HUGE!  Playtime is hysterical and they love to play with their Daddy.  George is a puppy at heart and is thoroughly enjoying the energy and play mentality of the kids.     Has anyone figured out our new pups namesakes?   Their names are Becky and Joe.

Jan 2    More playtime with the pups.

Jan 1     Sorry about not getting these videos online sooner....Very cute video of the last 4 pups playing.  They are now 9 weeks old and growing as we watch.  The 4 pups are our two (one boy and one girl.... Becky and Joe...not sure if anyone is geeky enough to know the reference.  Watch here and we'll give the answer in a few days.) and two girls that are going home soon.  More videos coming....

Dec 26       Miss Rust settling into her new home as well!  Too bad our pups haven't acclimated!?!  She met her new dad today after being hidden for over 24 hours to make it a wonderful Christmas surprise!

Picture

Dec 26        Mr. Green and Mr. Blue in their new home.  Post-Christmas party,  pups are exhausted having been spoiled all day!  Dad is having a blast with them and the boys look pretty happy and chilled out!  Nice bed they have!

Dec 24     Christmas eve morning.... Seann (daddy) sitting in the box with the remaining 4 pups (our 2 and the last 2 to go home) dancing with 2 pups to "Baby It's Cold Outside."

Dec 22     Sorry we have been so remiss in posting new pics and vids for the last four days...life has been crazy with the holiday season.
Puppies are rapidly becoming dogs!  They are very cute together and provide endless photo opps!
Four more are going home before Christmas so we will be down to only 4 in the puppy box soon.
Mom has had very little interest in going in to see the pups.  Nature tells her when it's time and evidently Hailey is finished.  We also wanted to fully wean the pups so it all worked perfectly.  Hailey has been catching up on her sleep and is napping most of the day.  She does have 8 weeks of sleep deprivation to catch up on!
She was the consummate Mom and did an amazing job of raising her pups.  She made life quite easy on her humans!
While it looks like the pups are kissing, they are really just licking breakfast off each other's mouths!

Dec 18     Pups have eaten and are full of energy.  They get a burst of energy right after meal/water time and play aggressively and then crash hard.  While we secure the blankets, the pups continue to burrow under them.  Some find the resting lumps are fun to play with like they are a living toy.

Dec 15     Pups are sleeping.  Miss Orange has her tongue out and must be dreaming of mom feeding her because she was definitely making sucking noises.  Mr. Red heard her and saw me filming and came over to investigate.  All the others are asleep.... including the lump under the blanket who probably just wanted to be left alone.

Dec 15     This is a very cute video of a pup who has hiccups.  While Seann was trying to video the puppy, the others were attacking his arm.  I'm not sure we bred dogs....they seem to jump like baby kangaroos...baby kangaroos with very sharp razor baby teeth!!!

Dec 14     Pups are just over 6 weeks and starting to explore outside the box and getting to meet all the other doggie household members.

Dec 10       ALERT!  You have to read this before watching.  About 40 seconds into the clip Hailey appears to pick up a pup and throw it around.  It is in fact a toy and she is trying to get the pups to play with her.  It is a very cute thing to watch Mom teach the kids how to play.  However, if you aren't paying attention it is at first horrifying....and then you can't stop laughing.  Maybe that is just our odd senses of humor... or is it relief that it isn't what you thought?!?
In any event...Hailey picks up the toy and taunts all the pups and then walks around with it showing it to everyone.  Very cute.

Dec 10          Pups and Mom out of the box for daily cleaning.   Mom on a mini-vacation staring out at the Lake and the pups barely fit in the laundry baskets!  Six week vet visit and shots on Monday.  That should be an interesting trip and then waiting room visit!   We are really enjoying watching Hailey playing with her pups.  So gentle but you can see she is correcting and teaching at the same time.  She really likes her kids so much and it shows.  If she is just lying around them keeping them company, they are constantly pulling her ears, tail and coat.  She is so tolerant.  Very sweet.

Dec 9         Pups are now 5 1/2 weeks old and became dogs this week!  They rush the door when Mom comes in and make it almost impossible for her to get in.  They only get to feed on Mom a few times a day now and are eating puppy food mush three times daily.  Mom still likes to visit, clean and hang out for a few minutes.  Very cute to watch her play with the kids.

Dec 7       Pups are 5 weeks old now and VERY active and playful.  Smart pups and very flirty.  Everyone has started getting some out of the box time with Dad on the living room rug.  Amazing how even that is a new experience for them!  Quite engaging pups and we are thoroughly enjoying watching them.  Mom on the other hand was enjoying a few minute nap away from the kids.

Dec 7             Video of Miss Yellow in profile.   Piper finally realizes he's not alone.

Dec 5          A few sleeping puppy shots

Dec 5       Pups are really running around and playing with a lot of energy lately as they are now eating puppy food mush three times a day.  They still get Mommy's milk periodically throughout the day and are growing exponentially.  Seann tried MANY times to put his camera in the box at puppy height to catch a dogs-eye-view of activities.  Each and every time one puppy would come out of nowhere and sniff right on the power button and turn off the video.  This was the longest video he allowed and yet, as you will see, at the end Mr. Red (we think) comes running up and defends the litter from the papparazzi!

Dec 2   Cute video of playful pups.  Miss Pink has been the largest in the litter since birth....and she knows it.  Very rare that a female is the largest.  She likes to play and usually won't take no for an answer.

Pups reacting to squeaky toy

Nov 28      We tried the same pic with the 5 girls.  You can imagine how hard it is to get 5 pups to stop moving for just one second!  Needless to say, we had many blurry pics.

Picture

Nov 28          Great picture from a new parent of one of the boys in this litter.  They came to visit and get to know the pups.  We love when prospective parents come to visit....and the puppies love it more!
Not many lineups are this cute!  Pups really enjoyed all the interaction with so many new people this holiday weekend.

The four boys

Nov 27       We have one boy and one girl still uncommitted from this litter.  Pups will be going home Christmas week.

Nov 26        This video is not in order...but is by far the cutest one.  This is the post-feeding video of Mom cleaning up the area and one of her pups.  Enjoy!

Nov 26          Pups are now almost 4 weeks old.  Today was their first meal other than Mom.  Lunch consisted of baby oatmeal and evaporated milk.  A big hit.  For the first time learning how to eat, they did great.  Only a couple of them decided to walk through the food.  Usually all of them end up in the bowl.  Video is a bit long at 4 minutes ... sorry!
The second video is the last few pups finishing up the food and licking it off each other.  After their meal we let Mom in to clean them up and give them some milk to wash down lunch.  All are now passed out sleeping it off!

Nov 22
Moving day!  This is the last vid from the small 1 bedroom they all shared with Mom.  Starting today, they move into their 2 bedroom with windows on three sides!

Pups are now waking up and just playing with each other if Mom isn't around.  Last night they decided they had a ton of energy and woke up at 5am to play.  Didn't mind being awakened by all the racket (even little barks!) but they can only stay awake and play for about 60 seconds before they just fall over and fall asleep.
New whelping box (actually quite old...that we made ourselves!) with 2 sections gives Mom a chance to get away but still be close by.  Windows give the pups a chance to acclimate visually to the surroundings.  They are already unphazed by vacuums, voices, TV, music etc.
Who wouldn't prefer a 2 bedroom vs. a 1 bedroom with 9 kids!!!

Nov 21   Three weeks old

Nov 19

This video requires a bit of a committment as it is over 4 minutes long!  Camera was positioned in the box and not moved so some of the shots are unintentional.
Another video but this time not turned on the side!   Seann thinks she does this standing feeding intentionally to get the pups moving and stronger.  I think she is just obsessive compulsive about cleaning the box before feeding.
At the end of the video Daddy George comes by and while it appears that he is looking lovingly at his girlfriend and kids (if you want to anthropomorphize it) but actually he is checking out why so much attention is being paid to the screaming things in the box and not him!!
Hailey now walks into the box to "clean" it up and the puppies are just big enough to barely reach her nipples.  They can attach for a few seconds, but eventually roll onto their backs.  I think Hailey understands they are just too big to all fit in and get to her nipples while she lies down.  Standing frees up both sides and gives everyone access.  She will eventually lie down, but between the lack of coordination and the frenetic activity we can watch it all day long.  The pups are now starting to engage with each other and mouth each other.  This is the first stages of play and we are even hearing little puppy barks now!

Nov 18

Nov 18 - Pups are starting to engage with each other and are still too wobbly on their legs to really play.
They are growing so fast now that they can drain Mom's 10 dining facilities in a matter of moments.  Hailey still likes to sleep in the box with them, but after they have eaten and are all asleep she will come out to hang with us.  She is still cleaning up completely after the pups.  Even when she is apart, the first thing she does on return is clean the box area and the pups.  Then she will feed them.  She is an absolutely amazing Mom.  Her breath smells like a sewer, but she is still the sweetest thing!

Nov 16

Very uncoordinated puppies trying to find Mom's milk.  While their eyes are open, they seem to be able to only see nearby things.  They can smell mom and are frantic to find the good stuff!  At the end you can see a pup who is realizing it is just a bit too short yet to nurse while mom stands.  Later on she will go in and nurse them standing and then all nipples are available.  With 9 pups, even her top 2 nipples... numbers 9 and 10 (normally for show only) even have milk!
